The Roma Education Fund Romania team has over a decade of experience regarding the implementation of educational programmes in some of the most disadvantaged communities. The major results of the foundation were obtained through implementing over 25 projects financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund, the Norwegian Grants, international foundations, governmental agencies or private companies. All these projects aim to benefit over 26.000 Roma students and adults, REF Romania offering complex services though multiannual interventions.
For REF Romania, the quality of the educational programmes offered towards the beneficiaries is essential, and the improvement of the Romanian educational system is a priority. In this regard, the Foundation was part of the groups formed within the project, “Educated Romania”, one of which was the one developing the anti-segregation methodology.
Also, the Foundation is an active member of the “Education Coalition” and Roma Sounding Board – World Bank.
The Partnership Teach for Romania and Roma Education Fund, in this endeavour, is recommended by the experience in vulnerable, rural, multi-ethnical communities; undertaking educational value-based programmes and informal community actions, based on the real needs of the beneficiaries.
Roma Education Fund brings relevant structured experience for the public educational field, and was involved in the national group for anti-segregation methodology development. The project continues common undertakings towards ensuring the right to quality education.
